Our Story

Midlife Khaos began after the closing of Gatsby, my brick-and-mortar boutique in downtown Salem, Oregon. Gatsby was the beginning — but when that chapter ended, I wasn’t finished with fashion, creativity, or the idea of building something of my own.

Midlife Khaos became the space to figure out what came next.

I sold clothing online, hosted live shopping events, wrote books, created, traveled, and spent a season of life on the road. Along the way, I kept coming back to one question: What makes retail worth showing up for?

I found part of the answer in small towns and independent businesses — places where people still support the shops, makers, and people around them. But I also realized that simply selling things isn’t enough anymore. What we offer has to feel special. Personal. A little unexpected. It has to give people a reason to walk through the door instead of clicking “add to cart.”

And, at its best, it creates community.

That’s where Revamp was born.

Revamp brings together individually curated closets under one roof, creating a boutique that changes every month and can never be exactly duplicated. Every rack has a person behind it. Every piece gets another chance to be loved. And every visit offers something you couldn’t have found the month before.

Today, Closet Revamp has locations in Salem and Sisters, Oregon — and has become the heart of what Midlife Khaos is now.

The books, creativity, and other pieces are still here. But they all come from the same idea that has carried Midlife Khaos from the beginning:

Things change. We change. And sometimes the next version turns out to be the one we were looking for all along.
